Preview of Life in Communism 2.1. Revolutionary Literature II,

by Carla O’Gallchobhair

It is Year 14 of the self-organising revolution. The youngest of the thirty-seven young revolutionaries in Illyria and Saint-Denis are five years old and learning how to write and to express themselves. This is an occasion for all of them to try themselves in authorship, and they tell fascinating stories indeed, treating a wide range of topics, from a perspective on the Paris Commune, via revolutionary robotics to the triumph of animal and plant rights. And they are always mindful of Sophie’s three criteria: To be considered revolutionary, literature must help us argue, not be defeatist, and not play into the hands of the class enemy.
